Troubleshooting
Most issues have simple solutions. Let's get your Lavuna back to perfect performance.
Try These First
- Check that your Lavuna is properly connected to the tap
- Ensure the filter is correctly installed
- Verify water is turned on at the tap
- Look for any visible leaks or loose connections
- Try running water for 10-15 seconds to clear any air
No Water Flow
Water isn't coming out of the Lavuna, or flow is completely blocked
- Check that your tap is fully turned on
- Ensure the diverter valve is in the correct position
- Remove and inspect the filter for any blockages
- Check the adapter connection to the tap for debris
- Ensure all connections are hand-tight (not over-tightened)
Note: Never use tools to tighten connections. Hand-tight is sufficient and prevents damage.
Reduced Water Pressure
Water is flowing but much slower than usual
- Check if your filter needs replacement (LED indicator will show red)
- Clean the aerator at the spout opening
- Inspect for any kinks in internal tubing
- Verify your home water pressure hasn't changed
- If filter is new, run water for 30 seconds to clear initial carbon dust
Common cause: This is usually a sign your filter is reaching end-of-life and needs replacement.
Water Leaking
Water dripping from connections, housing, or tap adapter
- Identify the leak location (tap adapter, filter housing, or spout)
- Turn off water and dry all components
- Check that the O-rings are properly seated (should be included with unit)
- Ensure filter is fully inserted and twisted until secure
- Re-tighten all connections hand-tight
- If leak persists, replace O-rings (contact support for replacements)
Prevention tip: During installation, ensure all rubber gaskets and O-rings are properly positioned before connecting.
Display Not Working
LED display is blank, dim, or showing incorrect information
- Run water through the unit for 5-10 seconds (display is water-activated)
- Check that the battery is properly installed (if applicable)
- Clean the display screen gently with a soft cloth
- Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds
- If display remains dark, the internal battery may need replacement (contact support)
Strange Taste or Odor
Water tastes or smells different than expected
- If filter is new, run 2-3 glasses of water to flush initial carbon particles (this is normal)
- Check filter age—if beyond 3-4 months, replace immediately
- Ensure your source tap water quality hasn't changed
- Clean the spout area thoroughly with warm soapy water
- If unit hasn't been used for 2+ weeks, replace filter before resuming use
Important: Taste and odor changes are usually the first sign of a filter that needs replacement.
Adapter Won't Fit Tap
Universal adapter doesn't seem to fit your tap properly
- Check your tap type (threaded external, threaded internal, or non-threaded)
- Use the correct adapter from the included set (3 adapters cover most taps)
- Remove your existing tap aerator first if present
- Try the rubber washer adapter for unusual tap sizes
- If none fit, measure your tap diameter and contact support for custom adapter
Compatibility note: Lavuna works with 95% of standard kitchen taps. For pull-out spray taps or designer taps, contact support before purchasing.
Filter Counter Won't Reset
After installing new filter, display still shows old filter percentage
- Press and hold the white reset button for 3 full seconds (not just a quick press)
- Ensure you're pressing firmly and directly on the button
- Try with wet fingers (some displays need moisture contact)
- If button is unresponsive, check for any debris blocking it
- As last resort, remove and reinstall battery to perform full reset
Cloudy or Milky Water
Filtered water appears cloudy, white, or milky
- This is almost always harmless air bubbles—let water sit for 30 seconds and watch it clear
- If using a new filter, run 2-3 glasses to purge air from system
- Check if cloudiness appears in unfiltered tap water too (may be water supply issue)
- Ensure filter is properly seated and locked in place
- If cloudiness persists after sitting, contact support
Good to know: Air bubbles are completely harmless and common with new filters or after periods of non-use.
